I.Project Description:

This project constitutes a profound exploration tour into Chinese landscape aesthetics and humanistic spirit. During the seven-day course, you will be in the beautiful Guilin, as saying goes, “East or west, Guilin landscape is best”. You will go to the karst peaks and forests to sketch, and use the painting brush to talk with nature; participate in Chinese calligraphy & painting practical training and intangible cultural heritage handicraft workshops to experience the charm of brush, ink and traditional Chinese painting. And exchange and co-create with the teachers and students of Guilin Normal University to broaden the artistic vision through the collision of inspirations.

The project is dedicated to building a bridge for international youth art exchange. Through a series of courses, city visits and joint creations, you will gain a deep understanding of the spiritual connotation of Chinese painting and integrate Eastern aesthetics into your own artistic practice. This is not only a study tour, but also an expansion of vision and a seed of friendship, helping you to become a youth art envoy connecting the cultures of the two countries.

II.Course Introduction:

1 Credit, 7-day short-term training, including: 1. Sketching From Nature: Landscape culture experience of “Misty Rain on the Lijiang River” and experiment of ink wash painting; 2. Traditional Skills: study of Guilin Cliff Inscriptions and Rubbing; 3. Calligraphy & Painting Creation: Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal cutting (Project-based Work Room); 4. Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshops: Tie-dyeing, Bamboo Weaving, Silver Jewelry Craft and other “Intangible Cultural Heritage and Innovation”cultural experiences; 5. Exchange and Co-creation: Courses such as cultural interaction and joint creation between Chinese and foreign students.

III.Accommodation:

We provide unified on-campus double-room accommodation, equipped with bed, wardrobe, writing desk, air conditioner, TV, bathroom (toilet), private shower room, kettle, hairdryer and room WIFI.
